I must admit that this move has really thrown us for a loop. It was much more difficult than we anticipated! That said, yes, I am planning on opening Jiinkinkids up again in the future. I have some website restructuring to work out and then I will get the shop up and running again! Thank you to all my faithful customers who have made Jiinkinkids a joy!

Save Handmade
I admit, I'm a little late getting on this cause! If I hadn't been so busy moving our household and the shop, I would have been on top of things!
You can read more here: SAVE HANDMADE
This affects Jiinkinkids directly and we are just taking it all in right now, trying to be smart about our future.... hoping that we can keep on keepin' on!

Apologies for the delay
Jiinkinkids apologizes for the long delay in putting up our new products. There have been a few major life changing events that have taken place and that slowed us down considerably. So, we are asking for your patience.... in 2 weeks or so we hope to launch the new products. Until then, we will be doing some website upgrading. The shop will periodically be "down", but you can still browse and shop!
Thank you to all of our faithful customers. We hope to be back up and "with it" as soon as possible!!

A little doll crazy!
I have no pictures right now, but we are really excited to be working on more dolls that are half the size of the dolls we currently sell at Jiinkinkids! They are just darling! (If I do say so myself!) I can't say exactly when they will debut, but they are coming! To give you an idea of their size, the Jiinkin Dolls that are currently sold are approximately 20 inches long. The new dolls are approximately 10 inches tall. I say approximately because each dolls is handmade. They could be slightly more, but not less in size! That's the beauty of handmade. Each doll is an original!
Hopefully I will have pictures of the dolls and a few more goodies to share with you soon!

Undergoing some updating
It always seems we are updating something here at Jiinkinkids/Jiinkin Designs! I apologize for the L O N G gap in time since my last post! I had surgery and didn't hand over the "reigns" of the blog to anyone while I was gone! As usual, we are up to crafting new things to put in the shop. I will hopefully have pictures of the upcoming items soon!
Please continue to check back with us!

Jiinkin Dolls Coming Soon!
Let me start this post by saying that yes, I am still alive! I am sorry for not taking better care of this blog. So much has been going on and I'm very excited.
A while ago, I decided that I wanted Jiinkinkids to have more than art in the store, but nothing ever felt quite right. I always have tons of ideas swirling around in my head, which is a blessing and a curse...
After much hard work and a lot of long hours, Jiinkinkids will be introducing "Jiinkin Dolls" to the store on March 1st! Each doll is 100% handmade and comes with her own special quilt, adoption papers and a very special blessing. There are no two alike, each one is an original!
So stay tuned for more. I will be sharing more pictures and more details about the dolls as the month goes by! We are very excited!
Thank you for following along on Jiinkinkids great adventures!

"Wish Upon a Little Star"
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those to love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true.
“Wish Upon A Little Star” is a giclee fine art print that I created specifically to raise funds for a project called Swallows Nest.
”Wish Upon a Little Star” has been founded by Jiinkinkids and Wild Butterfly Soap in order to lend a helping hand to Chinese orphans. We believe every child is a bright “little star”. Our goal is to raise money for an organization that strives to improve the lives of children growing up in orphanages. The organization that we are supporting is called Swallow’s Nest. They are currently working with children who are in need of surgeries. They bring orphans into a foster care setting who have higher needs than the orphanages can meet. Here’s how it works: Specific items will be sold at Jiinkinkids and Wild Butterfly Soap and 75% of the profits will go to the Swallow’s Nest project and will be directed to the current need. You can check out the organization at the below website:

Christmas Ornaments are Here!
Jiinkinkids has many ornament designs available now on our website! The ornaments are all handcrafted by me, and are 3.5 x 3.5 inches. Customization is available on several of the ornaments!
I designed ornaments that can hang on any family tree...and close to my heart as always, are the adoptive ornaments.
I hope that the ornaments I designed for the adoptive community bring a smile to the faces of those waiting and hope for the future...
For the adoptive families with children home this Christmas, I have created a couple ornaments just for you! I can only imagine the joy your families must be experiencing this Christmas!
Warmly,
Stephanie

Coming to Jiinkinkids!
Coming to Jiinkinkids! A special line of 9 Redwork Embroidery Patterns!
These patterns are for those of you who do not have a crafty bone in your body AND for those of you who are sewing divas! I just made a redwork baby quilt using all nine designs and it is adorable! It only took one week to make and I only worked on it in the evenings!
The patterns will be making their debut at Jiinkinkids in the next two weeks, so check back!! I can't wait to see what you make!

For those of you who are interested, here's a little history about Redwork:
Redwork is the technique of using red embroidery floss and stitching on muslin squares using the outline embroidery stitch. The squares can be sewn together to make quilts, pillow or any other imaginative project.
It originated in 17th century Europe when red-colored floss was all that was available for fine stitchery. Eventually, other colors were adapted and became known as "redwork in black" or bluework.
Colors vary, but "turkey red" was the most popular and widely used. It is guessed that the color originated in Turkey, and was the first commercially dyed thread that didn't run or bleed. Today, the DMC floss colors #304, #498, and #666 are often chosen as the most authentic redwork colors, although blue, black and sepia brown are also used.
